Gâday Gâday friends, I recently finished reading Ryan Holidayâs book: Wisdom Takes Work. Iâve been feeling reflective recently. Iâm finding that the usual self-improvement books donât cut it anymore. I get less joy, insights, or motivation from them. Nothing wrong with them, but I feel like I need more. I find myself diving deeper into spirituality and philosophy. Iâm asking myself deeper questions of purpose and identity. In the book, Mr Holiday (what a great name btw), talks about how real wisdom takes:
You canât learn wisdom from theory alone. Although reading helps. Real wisdom takes encountering the real world. Mike Tyson once said: âEveryoneâs got a plan until they get punched in the faceâ Applied to business, and I think about: âAll business models work on paper until you encounter your first customerâ Business requires you to be the gladiator in the arena. You need to get dirty. You need to get punched in the face a few times. (metaphorically, of course). Feel the blood, sweat, and tears of solopreneurship. Itâs not a nice feeling. But business is not all sunshine and rainbows. If Iâm being honest, it sucks. There are days you will want to quit. Moments where things feel destined to fail. Seasons that push you to the edge of breaking point. But all this builds business wisdom more than a 6-figure MBA. Wisdom isnât cheap. But ignorance is even more expensive. Letâs Launch Together, Michael âbecoming wise requires some demiseâ Lim. *** P.S - Whenever youâre ready to Launch, here are 3 ways I can help you fire up your one-person business rocket ship:
