Why your offer sucks 😔

G'day G'day friends,

Your offer probably isn't broken.

But your timing is.

Most solopreneurs sell WHAT they do and HOW they do it.

The smart ones sell WHEN.

Let me ask you a question.

If you just moved into a new house or office, and needed new furniture that could be delivered quickly, assembled easily, and was cheap to purchase, where would you go?

I can almost guarantee you said Ikea in your head.

Now, I’m clever.

But I’m not a mind reader.

I simply understand the power of when an offer works.

Focus on transitions.

In my world, people want to build a business when they experience these:

  • Death of a loved one.
  • Divorce.
  • Layoff.

It sounds grim, but that’s the pattern real customers tell me.

In almost every response to the question

“Why do you want to work together?”

I get some variation of these transition points.

In entrepreneurship you can’t manufacture life transitions.

You can only listen and identify when your customers tell you.

Great offers catch people mid-transition.

The biggest buying moments in life are during the hard transitions.

When something changes, people are inclined to spend.

Your future clients are standing in their own doorway right now.

Experiencing some life altering transition.

So, don’t just sell the ‘when’ and ‘how’

Think about specific moments your clients need your offers.

Most of the time, a ‘no’ is really a ‘not right now.’

Focus on the timing, and the yes becomes easier.

Let’s Launch Together,

Michael “it’s all about timing baby” Lim.
