Gâday Gâday friends, Iâm lucky to be an uncle. My older brothers are lame (and bald lol): But their kids are super cool with me. I never thought Iâd be that cool uncle, but here I am. In total, Iâve got 3 nieces and nephews with another on the way. Itâs been quite an experience watching my brothers become fathers. And seeing a little human growing each time I see them. As loyal readers, you all know that I travel a lot. So I donât get to spend a lot of time together. Every time I see them, Iâm reminded how growth isnât always visible. You donât notice it day-to-day. But one day, they start walking, talking, and asking questions that make you pause. My niece can have a semi-literate conversation with me. But itâs not just children who change and grow. As humans, we are constantly growing. We learn. We experiment. We realize our mistakes. (like not eating enough durian). But we donât see the growth because we are too close to our own lives. You donât see growth happening, until you look back. As Steve Jobs once said: You canât connect the dots looking forward, only looking back. After decades in the corporate world, youâve got clues. Data that youâve changed over the years. Take some time to connect the dots. Youâll be surprised how much youâll uncover. Youâre too close to your day-to-day life to notice the change. Just like how your mouth is 2 inches from your nose but you still need someone else to tell you have bad breath. Spend some time to reflect. Iâve created a journal video course to help you do so: âCLICK HERE. Letâs Launch Together, Michael âUncle Mikeâ Lim. |
