I was on a 1:1 call with a coaching client.

We've been working together for a few years now.

He is a successful entrepreneur that grows quickly.

But lately, he has felt disconnected from his business.

It's a common pattern I see in successful solopreneurs.

Most solopreneurs say something like this:

“I just want to be successful.”

Or:

“I want to grow my business.”

Or:

“I want more freedom.”

These sound great.

Everyone pats you on the back and nods in agreement.

But they are dangerously vague.

And vague ambition creates anxiety.

Because if the goal is unclear, your brain has no way of knowing whether you’re making progress.

You could grow your revenue by 20%.

You could add new clients.

You could launch a new offer.

But if the destination is fuzzy, every step forward still feels uncertain.

You start asking questions like:

• Am I doing the right things?
• Is this actually working?
• Should I be further ahead?

This is where many solopreneurs get stuck.

Not because they lack talent, discipline, or hard work.

But because they lack specificity in their direction.

Imagine getting on a plane and saying, I want to go west.

The destination is so vague, every step feels like the wrong direction.

Compare these two ambitions:

“I want to grow my business.”

Versus:

“I want to earn $250,000 a year so I can work four days a week, walk my dog in the mornings with my partner, and take one month off each year to travel.”

The second one changes everything.

Now the goal has meaning and context.

Now the hard work has purpose.

Specific ambition creates clarity.

And clarity reduces anxiety.

When you know exactly what you are building toward, the hard days feel different.

They become part of the process.

Instead of signs that something is wrong.

So here is a question for you today:

What is your business actually for?

Go beyond having more 1s and 0s in your bank.

But think deeply about the life your business is supposed to make possible.

Because the clearer the vision becomes, the easier it is to keep going.
