the trillion dollar opportunity

G'day G'day friends,

I’ve been sitting on a trillion-dollar idea for almost 6 months.

And I’m bursting at the seams to talk about it (feel free to steal it):

People kept asking me:

“Michael, what do more experts get wrong when monetizing?”

And tbh I kept saying, “a lack of positioning.”

Which is still 100% true.

But not the whole answer in a world of AI.

I just didn’t want to say it out loud unless I was sure.

I needed to know AI couldn’t copy it in six months.

Then my 31st birthday happened.

I curated a private dinner in a small room filled with my entrepreneur friends.

For weeks after, people kept telling me it was the best night they’d had all year.

People who missed it were jealous (or so I like to think anyway).

During my morning coffee a few days later, it hit me.

Everyone is building more AI products for a market sick of AI products.

Nobody is building rooms focused on connection.

Except the smartest tech companies. They already know.

Notion is opening pop-up cafĂŠs in London, Berlin, and New York.

An AI startup, Ahoy, in San Francisco skipped the $60k launch video and threw a pirate party inside one of the Painted Ladies instead.

And I wasn’t kidding about the trillion dollars.

The events industry is on track to hit $2 trillion by 2030.

We now expect everything to be automated, scaled, and on 24/7.

Which makes the slow pace of building real relationships rare and valuable.

I keep hearing the same excuses from corporates thinking about going solo:

“I don’t have a product to sell”

“I’m not technical enough to build one”

“Everything I know is already on ChatGPT”

But honestly, one curated experience can out-earn any AI product you’d build.

Think of an ex-CFO hosting quarterly dinners for finance leaders in her city.

A former sales director running a two-day offsite for new VPs.

A retired surgeon putting together a retreat for doctors who are burnt out.

None of these offers are technical.

They just figured out that when AI is everywhere, connection gets scarce.

When you sell connection first instead of a product:

  • Nobody can automate it.
  • Community naturally retains clients.
  • People pay for belonging, not features.

You already have every skill you need.

You’ve been running meetings and hosting offsites for over 20 years.

Let's Launch Together,

Michael ‘connection is the real product’ Lim.

P.S - I got an overwhelming response to my email yesterday about How To Grow & Monetize An Online Audience As An Expert In 2026. I decided to pull the trigger and host the Masterclass on Thursday, September 24th 2026.
