I'm back in Singapore. For those who don't know, I was born here. But grew up in Melbourne, Australia. (yes, I'm a bit of a banana). 90% of my family still lives in the land of the Durians (Singapore). For the last few weeks, I've been doing the family visits. Just like any good Asian son, cousin, or grandson needs to do. Whether it's over coffee or dinner, this question comes up.. "So, what do you actually do??" These 6 words stir something in me. (Like when the waiters ask me if I need a fork with my chopsticks after hearing my Australian accent). This is a loaded question. Sometimes, it's a trap. I brace myself. Coming from a Chinese-Singaporean background, I had 3 options in life:
It might surprise you, but I ain't a doctor or lawyer (r u shocked??). So my relatives often have a hard time understanding what I do. Because explaining âI help solopreneurs make an extra $2K-$4K/month with the right niche and offersâ doesnât quite hit the same as âIâm a surgeon.â I don't fit into any box. I don't fit into any category. But while not fitting into a neat and tidy label makes for some awkward dinners, It's one of the best advantages for a solopreneur. A lack of a label means it can't be copied. A lack of a category means you own it. Don't just be another. Be the only. And when you are the only, people come to you. If youâve ever struggled to answer, âSo, what do you actually do?â⌠Good. You're on the right track. But if youâre stuck picking who you serve, what you offer, and how to position it so people say âYESâ instantly... Thatâs exactly what Iâm covering in my LIVE âCreating Your Nicheâ Workshop next Thursday 13th of March (1:00 PM AEST). Get access to my Hawker Stall Here.â There are less than 24 hours to get your tickets. Your niche shouldnât be confusing. It should be so clear that even your Singaporean grandma gets it. Stay Limitless, Michael "still not a failure" Lim P.S. When your niche is dialed in, you wonât get confused looks at family dinners. Youâll get clients instead. See you inside. |

Late last year, my business hit a ceiling. I knew the clients I had werenât going to get me to the next level. Don't get me wrong, I loved my clients. But in business, you have to do the hard things. What got you here won't get you there. I was working very hard, but earning⌠just okay. I wanted more than 'just okay'. I knew I could add heaps of value to established businesses. So, I changed one thing: My positioning. I made one simple positioning change: Move from coaching beginners â...

I've been in Bali for 4 days now. I'm loving the co-working space, gyms, and beach. While working out at Body Factory, I had a brainwave. Every country has a position. Not just politically. But every country occupies a space in your mind. When I say France, you think romance, wine, Paris. When I say Japan, you think precision, tech, sushi. When I say Switzerland, you think luxury, banking, mountains. And when I say Bali⌠You think digital nomad paradise. See the pattern? Great positioning...
