Skillz pay your billz, bro šŸ’ø

G’day G’day mates,

ā€œWhen I was your age, I had to go to the library to access knowledge.ā€

That’s an offhanded comment my mum said to me.

I was telling her about I’ve become obsessed with creating landing pages.

Sounds odd I know.

But becoming weirdly obsessed with random things is part of my personality.

At 30, I’ve just accepted myself. I’ve stopped denying that part of myself.

I was excited to tell my mum that I was mostly self-taught through the internet.

I’d picked up creating landing pages in less than six months and was already making money from it through my business.

She told me how hard knowledge was to come by when she was my age.

If she wasn’t at the library early enough, the book she wanted would already be taken.

She’d have to put her name on a waitlist and hope to get the book in 2 weeks.

Nowadays, you could learn the fundamentals of a skill in 2 weeks via the internet.

You won’t be a master.

You won’t be fluent in the language.

But we are living in an age where any skill can be learned.

  • Easily.
  • Quickly.
  • Cheaply.

As papi Naval Ravikant once said:

The means of learning are abundant, it’s the desire to do so that is scarce.

In a world rapidly being powered by AI, skill acquisition is no longer optional.

You need to be picking up a high value skill every quarter.

This includes:

  • Sales.
  • Design.
  • Writing.
  • Marketing.
  • Positioning.

Aggressively hunt knowledge.

Acquire new skills everyday.

Your skillset is a hedge against inflation and AI taking your livelihood.
