I just finished reading James Wise’s book: The Start-Up Century.

It’s a great book.

But one quote stood out to me:

In the last 22 years, technology has evolved rapidly.

Online business has never been cheaper, easier, and less risky to start.

In less than a generation, we’ve gone from needing a loan to needing a laptop.

You can start a business today with:

→ A Stripe account.

→ A Notion offer doc.

→ And a story worth telling.

That’s all it takes to reach a global audience.

The infrastructure that once belonged only to corporations now belongs to you.

The power that was once held by gatekeepers now sits in your pocket.

You, as an individual, have more power than a 20 person company of the past.

We’re not in the Industrial Age anymore.

We’re in the Individual Age.

It’s never been easier to take action and create the life you want.

But it’s also never been easier to get distracted and do nothing.

The last remaining barrier is your mindset.

You remain stuck asking for permission.

Waiting for the ‘perfect’ time to start.

Searching for the best business idea to pursue.

You create logos, websites and useless 86 page business plans.

But that’s nothing more than procrastination.

Instead, start by:

• Identifying a high value skillset.
• Manually acquiring 2-3 customers from your network.
• Get feedback, make money, get better, charge more money.

That’s it.

You’ve got a business.
