I got strangled by strangers šŸ¤¼ā€ā™‚ļø

A couple of years ago, I did Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)

It’s a martial art that looks physical.

But the actual game? It’s mental.

Grappling is like solving a puzzle in real time.

You improvise on someone who's improvising on you.

But my biggest breakthrough wasn’t from the training.

It was from the teaching.

At every belt, even as a white belt, you had to coach someone else.

Why?

Because teaching exposes gaps in your thinking.

The moment I explained a move, I’d realize what I didn’t know.

And if I got it wrong?

I’d get choked (or my partner got choked). Instant feedback.

This changed everything for me.

So, I applied it to my business.

Now, whenever I learn something, I teach it immediately.

If I can’t find someone to talk to?

I grab my phone, hit record, and explain it.

Why?

Because when you teach, you position yourself as an authority.

People see you as the go-to expert.

Clients don’t buy from the best.

They buy from the best positioned.

That's why it's the:

  • Best-selling author.
  • Best-selling product.

Not the:

  • Best-writing author.
  • Best-designed product.

People think the game of business of product.

But just like BJJ, the actual game is positioning.

Mark Zuckerberg didn't create a better social media platform.

What he did have was better positioning for cheap client acquisition.

He didn't go for everyone. He went for college students.

The business that can position itself to acquire customers the cheapest wins.

That’s what my Perfect Positioning Training helps you do.

It turns what you already know into a magnet for high-paying clients.

Because Positioning is about Perception, not Product.

With good positioning, you don’t chase them. They chase you.

Reply "Position," and I’ll send the details.

Stay Limitless,

Michael "not Gordon Ryan" Lim.

P.S - Positioning is like durians. To some, it’s the king of fruits. To others, it’s a spiky, smelly nightmare. Same thing, different perception. Just like your business.

My email yesterday struck a chord. I received emails like this: While I love hearing from you guys, these emails break my heart I can’t help but feel terrible. I know exactly what it was like to be in this position. I’m not in my 60s, but I’m familiar with being and feeling stuck. 2 years ago, my first business was failing me. I did well in my first year. But I didn’t build my sales engine. My clients ghosted me. A big proposal fell through. I got hit with a massive tax bill. I couldn’t deny...

I would say sorry, but I’m not sorry at all. In fact, I enjoyed it. And he started it. (So it’s really his fault) Matt reached out to work with me last year. He told me he was stuck. He couldn’t crack a monthly income goal. He had been working with a coach who wasn’t getting any results. Even after six months of work together. He still had: No sales system. No offer clarity. No real progress. When we started together, we tore down his biz. Rebuilt his offers. Simplified his message....

One of my friends’ start-ups got copied. He has a business-to-business software as a service. I won’t go into too much detail. (to avoid future copycats) But he came across a website that copied everything. The copywriting. The product. The positioning. The ideal client profile. Even the branding looked the same. He was anxious for days. He and his co-founder kept struggling to understand what to do. They contacted clients and reassured them. This was a massive threat to his business. When I was...
