I got caught cheating, ops 😦

G'day friends,

This weekend I attended a wedding in Singapore.

This was a close family member that was getting married.

It was a beautiful event at one of the nicest Italian restaurants in Singapore.

Over a hundred guests attended, and it was a very traditional Chinese wedding.

One of the key themes of marriage is commitment.

This got me thinking:

Why do most people apply this marriage mindset to things that shouldn't be applied to?

It's absolutely fine to get married to a committed long-term partner.

But a marriage strategy should not apply to your career.

You shouldn't marry one job, one career, or even one business model.

When it comes to work, diversify. Be non-exclusive.

Try different careers.

Try different businesses.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a 9-to-5 job.

But a corporate job is a stepping stone, not an end goal.

That's why you should be cheating on your job as much as possible.

Cheat on a 9-to-5 job with the side hustle.

Cheat on your career with going and learning skills online.

Cheat on your corporate role with freelancing the same skill to others.

Do anything and everything at your disposal to get you off the 9-5 treadmill.

Always be cheating on your 9-to-5 job that can help you scale your income.

Marriage should be between two humans.

  • not between humans and the job.
  • not between humans and a set career.
  • not between humans and a 9-to-5 employer.

The marriage mindset doesn’t work with work.

Commitment isn’t loyalty or admirable.

The beauty?

The internet has made cheating on your job easy.

So, starting cheating on it immediately.
