I got attacked by a bully ⛓️‍💥

It felt like a punch in the face.

I recently scrolled through a Medium article.

And got this comment by Jealous Jeremiah:

Harsh. Cruel. Inaccurate.

There are so many ways to respond.

Anger, biting back, complaining, venting.

But instead, I choose to observe:

I don’t know who hurt Jeremiah.

Maybe he didn’t get enough hugs as a child.

I used to overreact to comments like this.

But when you’ve been writing online for 6 years and have 87,000+ Medium followers, you get used to people being mean.

When I see these comments now?

I smile.

Why?

Because to own a niche means being hated on.

It’s part of the journey.

When you’re clear about what you do…

People should either love or hate you.

Anyone who has achieved anything gets hate.

Clearly, Jeremiah reads my articles.

Probably fornicates over them.

But while I get comments like this, I also get an inbox that looks like this:

It’s wild that I can make digital product sales in the middle of the night.

The feeling of waking up to money hitting your bank account is incredible.

So you can either choose to hate someone.

Even bully them.

Or you can learn from them and get these results for yourself.

I know I’d rather be Money Michael than Jealous Jeremiah.

Get angry or learn to make money.

Pick one.

It's hard to do both.

I was at a start-up event last night. It was hosted by an incubator called Catalysr. These were early-stage start-up founders. One of the speakers was a seasoned entrepreneur. He could have talked about anything. Fundraising, product-market fit, hiring to scale. Nope. He talked about one thing. The power of networks. He said this: “Your network will determine your success.” He talked about how his first start-up failed. And he went broke. The one thing that saved him? The people he knew. Not...

My email yesterday struck a chord. I received emails like this: While I love hearing from you guys, these emails break my heart I can’t help but feel terrible. I know exactly what it was like to be in this position. I’m not in my 60s, but I’m familiar with being and feeling stuck. 2 years ago, my first business was failing me. I did well in my first year. But I didn’t build my sales engine. My clients ghosted me. A big proposal fell through. I got hit with a massive tax bill. I couldn’t deny...

I would say sorry, but I’m not sorry at all. In fact, I enjoyed it. And he started it. (So it’s really his fault) Matt reached out to work with me last year. He told me he was stuck. He couldn’t crack a monthly income goal. He had been working with a coach who wasn’t getting any results. Even after six months of work together. He still had: No sales system. No offer clarity. No real progress. When we started together, we tore down his biz. Rebuilt his offers. Simplified his message....
