Gâday, Gâday friends, I went to a flower workshop in Bali a few weeks ago. It was hosted in this futuristic city funded by Russian billionaires. Itâs a bit of a controversial place, given the "alleged" corruption. Bali can be a wild place sometimes. The purpose of the workshop was to learn the Spiral Technique instead of using a plastic block to make a bouquet of flowers. The spiral technique is more sustainable and cheaper. The flowers also last longer. Here's how you do it: You start with the centerpiece flower. Then you layer another flower across it. And then another. And another. And another. You keep stacking one branch across the others. You do this until you have your full bouquet. Here are my results: Not too bad if you ask me. I might have another career calling. But while learning the Spiral Technique, I couldnât help but draw parallels to selling your expertise. You have one core expertise: Letâs just say it is Operations. And then you layer on other useful skills:
You then add your results, social proof, lived experience, and personality. Once you layer your unfair advantages, your skill set becomes something brand new. Itâs not that one skill stands out. But like a bouquet, the unique combination of flowers makes an entirely different piece of art. No one will ever have the same bouquet of flowers as you. Everyone in the workshop had access to the same limited amount of flowers. But we all came up with unique arrangements. No one will ever have the same stack of skills, personality, and experiences. Even if they are in the same industry, niche, and sector as you. Itâs literally impossible. Thatâs how you need to package, market, and sell your expertise. Market your expertise like a flower boutique, not like a single rose. No individual flower makes the bouquet. But the combination of flowers makes it unique and beautiful. Skill stacking is more sustainable, easier, and durable than specialization. I want to help you create your own flower bouquet That's why on Thursday, the 24th of September, Iâm hosting a special event on helping experts Grow and Monetize Their Online Audience. Early-bird tickets are now available. The ticket price will rise in 4 days. Save your spot HERE.â Letâs Launch Together, Michael âflowerpowerâ Lim. P.S - I also got to feed some Alpacas.
