G'day G'day friends, Iâm about to catch a flight from Bali to Singapore. Iâm currently enjoying my pre-flight ritual of fish tacos, fried squid, and coffee at Revs. Weird combo, I know. But itâs freakinâ delicious, i tell ya. Anyways, flying to another country always makes me reflect on my life. On the Grab bike ride to the airport, I was thinking about how the world of business has fundamentally changed since the introduction of AI in 2022. Itâs wild to think that in the last 4 years, the world has completely shifted. We now live in a reality: With AI, product development is cheaper and easier.
â
With AI, marketing is now more expensive and harder.
But with every big change, there are clear winners and losers. People with product development skills donât have as much of a competitive advantage. People with marketing skills now have an in-demand skill set. This is simple economics. When something becomes abundant, something else becomes scarce. Put simply, AI doesnât destroy value, it shifts value elsewhere. So when everyone and their dog can create a product overnight, marketing and sales become the new challenge. Being able to tell a compelling story that influences another human to take action is a high ROI skill. This is why anyone using AI to 100% write, design, and market their business is a f*cking loser. Thatâs a bit harsh, I know. Iâm a bit of a crank this morning. But itâs how deeply I feel about this. Distribution is now king, baby. The number of people you can reach through a channel you own is the only competitive advantage you have left. Building a following isn't enough. You need to build an audience you can monetize without feeling sleazy. Thatâs why Iâm hosting a LIVE masterclass on September 24th, teaching expert-led solopreneurs how to grow and monetize their audience in 2026 and beyond. The world has changed. The question is: Are you preparing yourself for that change? âGet your tickets HERE.â Early bird ticket prices end in 1 day. Letâs Launch Together, Michael âa bit crankyâ Lim. |
