cause a rug addiction 💊

G’day G’day friends,

I have recently finished reading Hotel K by Kathryn Bonella.

This book it details the underworld 3rug scene in Bali.

A lot of people think that Bali is all about yoga retreats, spirituality, and gyms.

Or they think it's all an Eat, Pray, Love vibe.

But there is an unspoken but very well-known dark side of the rug scene in Bali.

There have been high-profile cases like the Bali 9 and Schapelle Corby.

They were caught trying to smuggle rugs into Indonesia.

But when they go into the prison is that they are exposed to even more rugs.

Rugs are everywhere in Hotel K (Kerobokan Prison)

There is rampant corruption by guards to allow it to happen.

Rug dealers have a highly effective strategy.

They will give anyone a little bit of a rug for free.

They'll give him a little taster of what it would be like.

And then they'll charge a little bit more for more, but still very cheap.

Up until a point where they get the user completely hooked on their rug of choice.

When I read this book I was really shocked.

But I learned how I can apply this to my business.

(To be clear, I’m not selling rugs)

Don’t sell rugs, but you want to become addictive.

We want to be compelling.

We want to become addictive.

How?

By solving your customer's problems.

Instead of a rug addiction, you create an addiction to YOU.

They get addicted to all your content.

Because every piece of content, product, service is solving a problem for them.

It's through this line of thinking that I really thought about what is a small thing I can give away for free but would get a lot of people hooked on it.

I've experimented with all different types of products.

But one thing that I've been using recently is custom GPTs.

I’m using GPTs to speed up implementation for myself.

GPTs help people go fast because in a world of AI, information is dead.

Implementation is everything

This is why I am now using GPTs as lead magnets.

And then upselling them to do it even faster 1:1 with me.

That's how I get them hooked on the small thing…

and then upsell them on the big thing.

Just like the rug dealers at Hotel K getting them hooked on a small amount of rugs before selling it at a a higher price once they were addicted to the rugs.

Sell the small thing to create an addiction to your higher ticket offer.

We want to be ethical rug dealers by helping people improve their lives.

Let’s Launch Together,

Michael ‘become a rug dealer’ Lim.

P.S - I'm running a LIVE sales webinar on Wednesday the 11th of February. I'll teach you how to make your offer so compelling that people can help but become addicted to it. Respond by with "RUG" and I'll send you more info.
