G'day G'day Launch Pilots, I went to a start-up event last week. This was a demo day for the participants of an accelerator. I love the energy of being around entrepreneurs. Thereâs something about their ambitious energy that is infectious. Itâs hard not to be inspired by people who are seeing things differently. They look at problems and decide, âWhy canât I solve this?â Rather than make excuses, they take action and see what happens. Most of the time they miss, but they keep going. Itâs the same reason I like places like Bali, Bangkok, Singapore, and HCMC. These places are hotbeds for entrepreneurs building cool stuff. But back to the demo day. Each entrepreneur had 3 minutes to pitch their start-up. While the length was the same. The quality could vary wildly. The major difference? The ones that had a personal connection to the problem. You could feel it in the way they spoke. Their stories didnât feel rehearsed. They felt lived in. Investors can feel when a founder is chasing trends or the shiny object. The detail, nuance, and emotion in your story resonates. You understand your customer at a deeper level. (because you are your customer) And when youâve lived the problem, you donât need a script. Your conviction speaks louder than your slides. Thatâs the power of founderâproblem fit. Too many solopreneurs fail because they try to solve a problem theyâve never experienced. People donât just buy what you build. People buy why you build it. Let's Launch Together, Michael 'solve your own problems, sell the solutionâ Lim. *** P.S - Whenever youâre ready to Launch, here are 3 ways I can help you fire up the rocket ship:
