Gâday, Gâday friends, Iâm back in Singapore to celebrate Chinese New Year. This is a massive celebration across Asia. In Singapore, most things are closed. I love this time of the year. Itâs the one celebration where I see all my family. Iâve spent the last two days seeing cousins I only see once or twice a year. We get together, eat, and catch-up on life. One of the tradition is exchanging red packets. These are filled with small sums of money and wishes of prosperity and health. As a kid, I'd love to just get the money. But as Iâve gotten older, Iâve started to notice something else. Chinese New Year isnât about the money (surprise, surprise). Itâs about being interrogated by your Asian relatives. Especially your retired aunties with too much time on their hands. With a nice smile, they will rapidly fire:
and also, âWhen are you getting married?â To preserve my sanity, I reframe these questions. Behind these questions are my loving aunties are asking: Are you moving forward? Are you on the right path? Are you building a life youâre proud of? The Year of the Horse is supposed to be about movement, energy, and momentum. A lot of people enter a new year⌠Doing the exact same thing as last year. Same job. Same stress. Same routine. The same quiet feeling that something isnât quite right. They tell themselves: âMaybe next year.â But next year becomes the year after that. And then five years pass. Thatâs why I built something simple to help you understand your solopreneur journey. Itâll show you:
Because sometimes, the best red packet you can give yourself⌠Is a new direction. If you want to start the Year of the Horse with real momentum, take the free Solopreneur Assessment Roadmap here: âCLICK HERE TO START.â (100% free). Letâs Launch Together, Michael âgiddy up horseyâ Lim. P.S - Here's all the red packets I got this year... |
